The actual measurement you take depends on where you want the blind to hang and the measurement type you select.  If you are hanging the blind in a window recess the measurement should be from side to side of the recess.

The actual measurement you take depends on where you want the blind to hang and the measurement type you select. If you are not hanging the blind in a recess the value you enter for the drop should be the distance from the top of the roller to the longest length you want the blind to hang

Great blind if like us you work shifts and have to sleep throughout the day. We ordered for a recess for which the blind fitted perfectly, very easy to install and works well. Also like that they give you the child protector for the pulley so that children (or in our case kittens!) can't get tangled.
