For the most accurate results use a metal tape measure and always measure twice, just to check.
 

Recess Size – for blind fitting within the window recess
 

We always recommend measuring in three places, across the top, middle and the bottom, this allows for any variances.

Order the smallest of these measurements – We will make a small deduction to ensure that the blind fits perfectly within the recess, allowing for the blind fixtures and fittings.

Please note, for roller blinds, the fabric cloth will always be 3cm narrower than the overall bracket to bracket size of the blind, to allow for correct operation.

Exact Size – sometimes referred to as Bracket to Bracket Width

If installing outside of a window recess, then you will need to find the widest and deepest point of your window recess by measuring as above. You then need to add for the blind to overlap the recess, both to the width and the drop. We would recommend a minimum overlap of 10cm each side and the same above and below. Always look for any obstructions. Once you have added the overlap you will have your exact overall blind sizes.

Remember on a roller blind the exact width is the overall bracket to bracket and the fabric width is always 3cm narrower.

If you have a wooden baton above the recess, we advise you to measure this as your exact width and from the top of the baton to where you want the blind to finish as your exact drop. It’s easy when you do it the Swift Direct Blinds way!

Recess Size

Just like the width, to measure for a recess drop we would always ask you to measure in three places across the internal window opening, and to provide us with the smallest measurement.  A small deduction will be taken to ensure the blind can operate correctly.

Exact Size

If your blind does not sit within a recess or you simply want us to make a blind to your sizes with no deductions, measure the overall drop you require from top to bottom, including the blind headrail and any overlap to ensure you get full coverage. We would recommend around a minimum overlap of 10cm top and bottom, but the choice is yours. For replacement vertical blind slats only, please ensure you only measure the fabric 'drops' excluding the headrail, from the top of the fabric to the bottom
