Colours and patterns that are bold and courageous are great but do keep them in moderation. Colour proportion really must be proper to the palette as well as pleasing to the eye.
You should be careful in avoiding overmixing patterns. If you do overmix the patterns you choose will compete with one another.
So, with that said, it’s good to offset different patterns by implementing neutral breaks. This will establish a sense of balance and will not create a challenge to the eye.
As an example, in your bedroom, if your pillow and duvet covers tend to be busy and multicoloured, match those with a set of beige curtains. Possibly, depending on the tone of pink - the lighter, the better - a set of
pink curtains can also work well.
Grounding your room with neutral colours allows you to add a variety of colourful highlights such as pillows, rugs, blankets.
